Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2025 Thursday — 60th Anniversary

This May 29th, Thursday, has been a good, good day, a wonderful 60th Wedding Anniversary. I think Mr. Fun & I have celebrated this day for most of this past year, and what a year it's been.

We woke-up to sunshine (that's always lovely) and a horizon-line way out on the edge of the ocean and the reality that we’ve stayed together for 60 years. We enjoyed coffee and some music from the soundtrack of our lives.

At 9:00 we enjoyed breakfast at the Sea Shanty; then stopped at the 3rd Street beach lookout to see the waves up close before coming home and then finding gift bags on the porch. We were gifted with a set of queen-size lavender sheets and a beautiful handmade perfect lavender "blanket." We lack the language to express our deep Thank You.

Early afternoon, we made an unexpected trip to our Morro Bay veterinarian -- kind of an "urgent care" not "emergency room" visit for our oldest pup, Mitzi.

Late afternoon I did put on the wedding dress from our big celebration 20 years ago; so we had a mini masquerade party.

Then we drove to downtown Cayucos to enjoy a delicious dinner at Lunada's Garden Bistro and we were ushered to the table in "the hidden garden" an area surrounded by flowering plants. This has been a good anniversary.

We are thankful for everyone who has given us words of encouragement. Friends have made this anniversary very special.

And finally, we want to thank God for entering our "circle of two" 50 years ago and putting our lives right-side up. Jesus changed our names and wrote a story, our story, in a way that only Jesus could write. Our only roadmap has been the light He has shined on our path. Now it’s time for us to be quiet for the next 365 days (that would require a miracle).

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
