A Wee Visitor to my Standing Stone
Not THAT kind of standing stone. It is a stone hitching post that was probably put there not long after my house was built in 1851. It is my first Swallowtail butterfly sighting of the summer. They usually come around the end of May and they are the most common butterflies in my garden. A nice day but tomorrow will bring heavy rain. Josh the "mouse man" inspected the property and says there is some evidence that Ratty has move back into the barn cellar so, for the time being, the Back Porch Cafe is closed. Sigh. I haven't seen him, but we are taking no chances.
