Batavia

The lettuces have done very well and grown quickly. I am now eating them at every opportunity as they will probably have bolted by the time we return from the UK. This variety has a nice crunch to it. I did some weeding in the courtyard this morning so it won’t be too bad when we return. It has been another hot day. The veranda with its insulated roof and mesh blinds is coming into its own. It is usable in the morning and it has reduced the afternoon temperature in the living room from which it is accessed by a few degrees. That room is now much more comfortable.
