The Young Uns

In more ways than one!

In Shrewsbury this evening at Theatre Severn where Sean, Michael and David aka The Young Uns, were on the penultimate night of their twentieth anniversary tour.   As well as being twenty years since their first gig it's also the year they all turn forty and today was Michaels birthday.   The first half ended with the traditional birthday song when Sean and Michael's sons came on stage with a card and a cake.   The older of the two came back for the encore at the end of the show and supplied animal noises for a silly encore song!   The cake was being offered round after the gig at the CD table and after a chat with Sean I enjoyed a slice :-)     Really good show with songs from across their two decades including several sea shanties as well as a good few that Sean has penned.   Here's a link to one of Sean's songs, you'll find plenty more online.

I'm now in Birmingham at Ruth's.   Being over half way there it seemed an ideal opportunity for a mini break.
