Pre-amble to an amble

I was going to open this week by stating that it has been a work full of numbers and words, but then promptly realised that most, if not all, weeks are like that!

Maybe it would be better to say that Thursday in particular was the prime example of this, whereby my three computer screens spent most of the day occupied by spreadsheets that I don’t understand, which then lead into an evening of additional rehearsal involving a lot of words, which I do understand and am starting to get better at remembering.

It’s fair to say that outside of these two things there is precious little bandwith in my tiny brain for much else beyond sitting in front of the television with a tiny bit of drool emanating from one side of my mouth.

Fortunately, today was much quieter in all respects, so once 5pm finally hit, I was on my toes and took a walk I haven’t done for an age, which is the river walk heading south towards Hawes Bridge via Scroggs Wood (which always sounds like a place from a Roald Dahl story).

It was the perfect antidote to a busy week. No words or numbers, just the sounds of the river and the birds and the sight of wildflowers blowing gently in the breeze.

Normally, I tend to walk at pace, but for this one I was content to simply amble my way around.

Have a great weekend all.

We deserve it.
