Drove to Coton Manor in Northamptonshire to meet A. Its a beautiful place ( was voted as Britain’s favourite garden a few years ago). It’s in private ownership, but opens five days a week from April to September. The current owners inherited it from his parents, knowing nothing about gardening! They are elderly now, but still very hands on in the garden and were mingling and chatting to visitors all the time we were there, as well as staffing the entrance.
There were lots of different styles of gardening, but my blip was perhaps my favourite - with no plants visible!
There was a very good cafe with everything made on the premises so we had a delicious lunch and catch-up. I got home a little earlier than expected so got on with the usual Saturday chores before watching the final of BGT. I haven’t watched it for a few years - was very impressed with the standard of the acts .
