Misnomer

A small detour today on the way back from Lithgow. This area of about 200 acres was owned by William Piddington in the 1860s and he decided to cut down all but one of the trees so his visitors were afforded a better view of the Kanimbla Valley.
It has kept its name despite the abundant revegetation and being the highest point, it’s also now home to the water supply for the village of Mt Victoria.
