Stonechat

Summer!
Sunny intervals had me out early ( well early for me) 8-9:30 on the hills watching birds and taking photos.  3 Red Kites overhead was unusual. The Buzzards, Ravens and Kestrel are regulars.   Curlew, Red Grouse, Stonechat   and large numbers of Meadow Pipits.

Ring Ouzel was there somewhere as I heard its alarm call as a Buzzard went low overhead. Most frustratingly the Ring Ouzel started to sing a song which was drowned out by aircraft noise. I stood and waited in a good position on a steep hillside but there was no repeat performance and I also failed to get sight of the bird.

Breakfast was relished.  Shredded Wheat with fruit, Allinson’s Champion Wholemeal toasted with marmalade (low fat spread as I will have butter later in the day on pancakes) with Grumpy Mule Honduras Coffee, a lovely chocolatey flavoured one.

Breakfast is my favourite meal.
