Staffa

A boat trip to Staffa and Fingal's Cave, then the Treshnish Isles and back to Kilchoan, taking in loads of gannets, some lovely black guillemots and, most excitingly, about ten huge basking sharks!
Those fish are a ridiculous size, and I was surprised at how manoeuvrable they are. Seeing one head for and pass under the boat is something that will stay with me forever :)
The geology of Staffa is on a humungous scale, as well... columnar basalt bursting out of the sea. See Meles on the left for scale! (Best large!)
