Poppyland

Another name for North Norfolk is 'Poppyland'. The term was coined by Clement Scott in the 19th century for the section of coast between Sheringham and Mundesley. This field is further inland at Anmer - on the edge of the Sandringham Estate and where William and Kate lived for some time. Out to see this, and a nearby field of daisies today and lunch at Bircham Windmill and some fresh scones from the bakery. Sunny on and off - good day for my daughter to head off paddle-boarding at Burnham Overy Staithe. Final day of half term, but am in London tomorrow so all good...
