Living my dream

Brightness

It is wonderful to see the jonquils are in full bloom in K's garden. A cheery sight on a winter day.

I spent the morning weeding an area of K's garden which has been sadly neglected this year: there is so much else to do, and I have relatively little time there each week. It was a relief to be able to tackle it, although I have only made a small start. It will keep me occupied for several weeks.

FFL and F (his wife) viewed the property a couple of hours after I'd done my gardening stint, and then came on to Chez M&B for a mid-afternoon bowl of soup, to fortify them for the drive back to Chchch.

FFL is a taciturn person. I have seen him excited maybe twice in the years I've known him. And his version of excited would still be somebody else's 'mildly interested'. So I was astonished to witness his fulsome enthusiasm for R's place. (F is much less reserved: bubbling over and moving in already.) Apparently it ticks all their boxes, plus it feels perfect. For both of them.

I imagine the conversation in the car on the way home will be how fast they can get their existing properties (they have two) onto the market and how much they can expect to raise from the sales.

My task has been to contact R and let him know that they are seriously interested in moving ahead with his place and that FFL will be in touch in the next two days.

What a day.
