Living my dream

By Mima

Awesome

I always stand in awe beneath a sky such as this, wondering at the beauty which nature displays. It is only beautiful and awesome to the human species of course: a sunrise such as this just is as far as the rest of the world's occupants are concerned. No drama.

I need moments like this to balance out the human-created horrors. The yin and yang of living on Earth.

Today the Holiday from Home ended, and I was back on the tools. The to do list is long enough that I was able to mix and match jobs all day, to ensure that I didn't overwork my body. That notwithstanding I am physically weary this evening. 10 days off made me soft.

I set to digging a trench for a drainage pipe through the chook run with an enthusiasm which I wouldn't have felt two weeks ago, before my break.

The poor chooks have been living in a deepening swamp this autumn / winter. It was time to do something about it. My labours will be tested tomorrow, when rain is forecast all day.

Elsewhere I line-trimmed, and I tackled the weeds along the path from the garage to the truck. It was a full body workout and I should sleep well tonight.
