Brunch
We had a young neighbour Octavia for brunch today, as a sub editor on a quality magazine she often is responsible for pieces that HB writes so it’s nice when we can put them together. However she was going on the village Rogation walk so we couldn’t do lunch (beating the bounds, or at least some of them). Brunch was frittata, tomato salad and ice cream and strawberries. Dug some old strawberry yoghurt ice-cream I made out of the freezer which was delicious.
HB also left early for a concert but we picked her some roses and she packed them into a Tupperware box and hoped they’d survive (they survived)
Highlights of the day included lots of photos of the children at Disneyland in Paris, including a lovely one of Ivy proudly holding her pass with her picture on it. I have had pictures all week of their trip to Paris, which, once they’d settled in they clearly adored.
The other highlight was a long talk with Rory, in his hammock in Guadeloupe on a day off from filming. He’s had a lovely first six weeks with a great group of new friends some of who were only doing the first block so they packed it in as they have left. He was a bit sad about that but looking forward to our visit post the upcoming Florida wedding.
