Bread basket

I've heard East Lothian being called Scotland's bread basket. Well, here's a pic of some of our finest. Can't be long til harvesting now. It's starting to look pretty dry in the fields.

I often run on the roads that encircle these fields. They must be full of mice and rabbits. A stoat once ran out in front of me. There's a buzzard that sits on top of a telegraph pole nearby weighing up its hunger against the effort involved in retrieving prey from below. This evening a kestrel swept across the field and dived from view below a rise.
