Home again!
We are back home again. When walking to the boarding gate yesterday at San Diego airport we saw Jimmy Carr, and then realised that he was on the same flight as us - although he flew 1st class so we did not sit near him :) The airline staff seemed very pleased to have a celebrity on board. He is much smaller in real life than one would expect, so I almost did not recognise him.
The flight was extremely bumpy and I hardly slept, so by the time we landed at 11am (3am San Diego time) I felt pretty grim and tired. Tommy left a day before us on Lufthansa and flew to Munich, and then he was flying on to London but his Munich - London flight was cancelled due to storms so he had to sleep in Munich - however they offered him a British Airways flight for this morning, but unfortunately his suitcase was lost in this change of airline and change of terminal. He believes it is sitting in Munich at the wrong terminal in lost property and he is hoping that British Airways will find it and get it back to him.
When I got home it was wonderful to see Xena again - she seemed pleased to see us too. I could not believe how warm it is at home, much warmer than anything we experienced in San Diego. I have already done three loads of laundry, I had a groceries delivered and have unpacked and got organised. I am feeling so shattered from not sleeping, I have been feeling nauseous all afternoon. Hopefully I will sleep tonight.
I did a walk around the garden, there are still some poppies, the alliums are in bloom and my roses are looking beautiful.
It is nice to be home again, but we are missing Adam.
