Ahoy there!

Kay and Eric's niece, Maria, is visiting them with her two boys, Daniel and Marcos. They live in Greece.

We arranged a visit to Humshaugh for today. I'm glad it was fine because we were able to meet in the play area. Here is the family on the wooden boat. Marcos is steering.

(I used the motor drive and took lots of pictures. The outtakes were quite amusing. As one boy tired of smiling, the other, who had been pulling faces, started to smile. I was keen not to have to combine images, so here is the best one!)

The boys loved the zip wire but also climbed the ropes and went on the slides and swings.

Back at my house, the track was its usual success. They made not just one road plan, but two! 

They had chickpea soup, then played nicely while the adults ate moussaka. The food was all provided by Maria. What a star!

Derek came this evening and I was delighted that he wanted to use some of Mum's art supplies. 

He has been seeing goldcrests, so I will have to try to find time to go out and try to see them myself. My first house was in Goldcrest Gardens in Southampton and I have never yet seen one in the wild.
