This morning I braved the hated M6 and drove down towards Loughborough for my neice’s baby shower . It meant we had a chance to meet some of the women from her partners side which always seems important to me . Like her sister, who has just had a baby, she is blooming beautifully. To my eye she looks incredibly glamorous in her blue attire. We played games , ate lunch and laughed together.
. It was worth the drive to catch up with some of my nieces and hear their news and then an unexpectedly lovely evening followed, as it turned out that Beth and her baby girl were also staying . One of my other nieces joined us for tea and for once there was time to talk , really talk, deep talk ! These amazing women have done the work and have so much wisdom, we are a safe space for one another and have fascinating conversations( when we get a chance ), a place where it’s acceptable to be one’s authentic self . What a privilege!
