Reuse, Recycle

Today was a cleaning day, which included clearing things out of the house.  We are blessed to have a handy-person in the neighbourhood (we don't know who) that thought to build a free library.  There's always a lovely assortment of books.  Today I added one of Richard Osman's Thursday Murder Club books.
We are also very fortunate that British Columbia has a robust Return-It program.  When we buy beverages we pay a small deposit for the container.  When we return these we get the deposit back.  Charities use "bottle drives" as fundraisers (not everyone likes to do the work to sort and return).  The homeless collect discarded containers from our parks and streets which results in much cleaner streets than say in Granton.
