Monday is Nero in the morning for breakfast.
Last week one of the regulars mentioned a good book he had finished and I said that I read a lot too . He said he would bring in the book and today he handed it over. Butter, by Asako Yuzuki a Japanese novel inspired by real events. I took him one I had .
Also met Duncan and his wife Irina. We call him Duncan the Spy as he worked for the Foreign Office and he’s been all over the world and based in the Bahamas for a while.
It’s always a very social journos so sitting there.
We walked home and later popped into Morrisons to pick up a ready made planter for Laura’s steps as they were so reasonably priced in a nice fancy pot too. Half the price of the ones we saw at Gloagburn last week, but their prices are OTT!
After re we dropped off the planter and had a chat with the gang (minus C).
Started watching the excellent BBC documentary on Bruce. There was a piece on the concert at Sunderland last year, made famous cos it rained continually. ‘Hellacious’ Bruce called it. They were sweeping water off the stage . ‘I looked out and I saw all these people standing in the rain, and I thought these are My People’. . Then he played to us and we forgot about the rain, just thousands of people worshipping the man, the band and their music.
Didn’t finish it as was shattered so back on it tonight.
