Magnolia

I was awake way too early this morning, before 5:00 am. I read a while before getting out of bed. I got dressed and headed to the lab. My blood test required fasting; my first stop was for a cake donut. I have now lost 20 pounds so that one splurge was deserved. We need chicken and some groceries for the trip. We get most of our meat from the Commissary on base. I picked up some pork and burger to make the trip count. The base front gate was closed so I had to go the long way to get off base. Next stop was to get the Mexican dip ingredients and tostados to go with it. Hubby left soon after me this morning to participate in his brother Knight’s funeral. The middle aged man was killed in a vehicle collision last week. He was not at fault. So sad. Hubby still had not returned when I got home. I put away groceries, packed my suitcase and had a small lunch. My garden lettuce is beautiful. We have warm days ahead. Surely hope it doesn’t get bitter while we are away. We’ll have some for dinner. My foot was aching so I rested it until time to pick up Brooklyn. The magnolias are blooming. I stopped at the school entrance to get a few shots. They weren’t as good as I wanted. After taking Brook home, I stopped at the school at the entrance to our neighborhood to some additional photos. Hubby finished mulching around the raised bed garden when he got home. He used up all the bagged mulch we had on hand. He’ll purchase more when we return from TN. Kim took her test for the National Teacher’s Boards today. She won’t get results until December. She is so glad to have all that beginner her. She may take the administrator’s course which will qualify her to be an assistant principal next. We are in for the evening. Wishing you a quiet one. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting. Still working through your journals. If I could only stay awake…
