Car
Today I took the car to Noble's first thing for a service and MOT, and regretted not taking Django with me so I could walk him back home. I saw that none of the Bilston Turf zones had been taken this round - there's a premium for takin "neutral" zones - so I walked back through the village, continuing to the Bush estate. There I encountered local Turfer Aibo - who works at the Bush - and I assisted her in taking RabbitER - which is next to the small animal hospital. I then took this image of Andy Scott's Canter Horse" that I photographed from the rear last summer.
After taking the bus home, I got stuck into writing documentation for HiGHS, but that led me to add a calculation that I'd avoided previously, and then look more carefully at a solver my former PhD student wrote, when I wanted to understand why it wasn't giving exact answers to small, simple problems. Hence I passed much of the day, and another aspect of our software is better understood, improved, and documented. I also learned from a favourite ex-MSc student that the major energy consultancy he works for is trialling HiGHS, and would I be happy to talk to the team doing it.
In the evening, after I'd nipped out to pick up the car, we didn't have the energy to see the film we'd identified in Edinburgh, so we had a nice meal at our local Nepalese restaurant.
