Grumpy Old Man

Can you hear . . . .

 . . . . the Sound of Kerrera?

Normally a very gentle sound, but today the gusting wind had the volume turned up! And that was just between the heavy showers!

I drove down to the car dealer again and this time Ian was at home, but when I asked about the rubber door seals constantly coming off he admitted that it was a problem with the Ford Focus and sent me down to another garage who told me the same thing. According to the lady behind the desk, the only cure was to have new seals fitted to each door @ £80 per door, but they usually come off again in a very short time! She even guessed that we had a Ford Focus! OK, I'll continue sticking them back with heavy duty tape!

As I was right down at the south end of town I carried on down the single track road which comes out on the Sound of Kerrera, towards the south end of the island. My Blip today is of a yacht sailing up the Sound towards Oban.

Before going home I continued along to Poppies Garden Centre to try to find a few plants for a trio of baskets on the deck fence, but as I approached, the heavens opened, so I sat in the car with the wipers going for 10 minutes before returning home. Fifty yards up the road the sun was out and the road was quite dry! I could almost hear a deep 'Ho, ho' from somewhere up above!

After lunch I walked down to Highland Fasteners to try to match some broken door handles, but they didn't have them so I walked on to Screwfix and bought a pair, nor quite the same but hopefully OK. By the time I got back my knees were moaning at me!

Enough excitement for one day!
