Ramblings and Mutterings

Slow train to Manchester

A busy morning before I then had to head to Manchester.

A few meetings in the morning. I got a phone call from our global head of sustainability, a big rarity for me, whilst I was on the meeting so I cancelled it. I then got a text asking me to ring her. I then got another phone call as I was trying to catch my train. We eventually spoke and got the pleasantries out of the way before getting down to business. She made some snidey remark and despite explaining I was in a meeting and then trying to catch my train, it was still apparently my fault. Horrible woman and I have zero respect for them.

I caught the slow train to Manchester then for the next two days of our training programme. It was four hours on the train as stopped at most stations along the way. Lol! I had a bit of a snooze and did some reading as well. On the last leg of the trip we had to put up with idiots. One kid was having a conversation on speaker phone, or playing some annoying music video. The other kid was like Dom Joly, having a conversation on the phone but wanted the whole carriage to know about it. Where are people's manners these days?

When I arrived in Manchester I'd received an email and invite to attend our investors call where they will announce the ESG Awards. We have entered and think we have a great chance, so I think perhaps the fact that we've been invited makes me think we've won something. I can't wait to find out, and my young padawan and I will absolutely love it if we do win.

Caught up with a few of the participants before heading to my room and doing a bit of reading again.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Good news on our investor's awards
2.  A book purchase
