It might look like summer but it was bitter cold this morning and I was shivering in my hoodie. Wished I had put my winter coat on. I'd gone for a walk, not realising it was so cool - I didn't walk so far!
Extra is of a pair of men's slippers I spotted in T J Hughes in town. I thought they'd be great for me. I know my Terry wouldn't be seen dead in these slippers so they must be better for a woman! The price was nice at £5 but at the till they were only £2.40 which is when I wished I'd bought the other pair as well!
Terry was told by the nurse early this morning "I'm trying to get you home today." He told me this and we both laughed. Neither of us will be counting on it. Sure enough, not long after the doctor saw him and said no chance! He is on the oral antibiotics now and must be on them at least one month. He is to have another CT scan on Friday and see what the plan is after that.
The catering lady brought Terry chicken soup at lunch time which he had not ordered and he said to her he had not ordered that as it's awful but she said "Well just eat what you can." Which was none. The ice cream he had asked for never arrived either so he had no lunch. He said it was pointless asking her again as she is useless. The young chap opposite had been unable to eat lunch as he was having a minor op so the nurse said to the catering lady to get him some lunch when he was back. He ordered the all day breakfast. At 2pm he asked where it was and the nurse asked the catering lady who said he did not order that - he ordered it for teatime. Outright lie! The nurse said to get him something so he was asked if he'd be OK with a sandwich for now and he said OK. The list of choices was spoken and he chose chicken. It had not materialised over an hour later. It's ridiculous! I think the catering lady either needs sacking or referring to the memory clinic.
The dietitian came back to see Terry and was not a bit happy with the lack of the prescribed milk shakes that staff should have been giving. She went off to tell them off and next thing he had a carton of milk on his table for him to mix one.
Terry was feeling better again today so we are hoping that he gets home after the scan - exactly when depends on when the scan takes place I would think - the doctors book it for morning but it invariably takes place late afternoon (or even next day) due to emergencies having priority.
