A Day in Sandveien
Light showers and rain this morning. A brighter afternoon with sunny spells, much the same tonight. Gales blowing all day, slightly easing.
A day working on my own. I've been washing bin compounds and litter picking in Sandveien and Nederdale. Walkies with Sammy after work, popped by Madeline's. Been down to Laura's this evening, Megan along too. Feet up before bed.
Sandveien, Shetland's largest housing scheme, which has around 200 homes. Completed in the mid 1970s, it won awards for it's housing design. While it is mostly a safe place to be, it does hold a name locally for being notorious, due to some squares with drug and alcohol problems. With the poor morning, there wasn't much happening around the scheme, I missed out on yapping with some of the local characters. The house numbering system confuses me, but I've got to grips with all the lanes and pathways. Taken at numbers 22-35 Sandveien, Sound, Lerwick.
