Bullfinch

Absolutely delighted to see a pair of these birds in the garden. The female was hard to photograph as she was a bit shy but the male was happy enough to pose for me. He is sitting on an old garden chair. Every so often he would flutter into the fennel and pick at the fresh green fronds. A rather messy eater. I wonder if they're still feeding babies. 

The day is maybe fractionally warmer than the past two but it's still unseasonally cool. A bit disappointing but at least the wind has moderated. I'm still chasing my tail I'm afraid. Off to meet a former colleague for lunch - lots to catch up on. Then I must get stuck into prep for the weekend, starting with a major shop. I have guests arriving on Saturday and time between now and then is limited.
