Nearly Took Up Smoking

Lots of rain this morning. I had to remind myself how to switch the wipers on. At one point they were running at double speed.

Nevertheless we've been to Witney and achieved a lot.

 - bought some petrol
 - nearly took up smoking (more details below)
 - took some books which have been in the garage for at least a couple of years to the Oxfam shop
 - collected my new glasses (they went darker even in the pouring rain)
 - mrsfb had her fringe trimmed

Coming back to the smoking. When I paid for the petrol the guy asked if I needed a receipt. Good job I said yes as when he printed it he realised I had been charged for a pack of 20 Benson & Hedges Silver in addition to the petrol. Somehow the scanner had picked them up on the counter. I explained I didn't really want to start now having managed all my life to get by without them. I got a £16.65 refund. And an idea for a blip :-)

I did get a smoked salmon sandwich in Waitrose though, with the meal deal (£4.50 on its own, £5 including a drink and crisps).

In other news I got my photo in the local paper, an article about camera club. There was a group shot with our trophies. I was almost cropped out!
