The Mountain Meadows …
… are filling with flowers (extra) which means a lot of food for the rodents and birds, therefore the bigger animals too, like this very wet dog fox I saw this morning just above Bretaye.
It looks idyllic but the train I got on to take me up there had 90 teenage students from my old school with 20 teachers packed into the three little carriages. When we arrived at the top here was a very loud helicopter delivering new avalanche barriers, and the restaurant near the train exit was using very noisy drills. It was not the peaceful morning that I had hoped to have! I was extremely lucky to see this fox as it was quite close to the noise. Maybe it is deaf. Certainly there were no Bouquetin near the extra photo as there was a digger working on the summit of the Grand Chamossaire. At least I got some exercise and arrived at the summit of the mountain well before the school group. I won’t be going up there again in a hurry!
