Jamie’s Lilies

Hubby woke me up so we could get on the road. We left the driveway at 9:15 and made a quick stop at Jamie’s. Was hoping to see him to wish him a happy 55th birthday. My son is a senior citizen. Frightening. I dropped off some garden lettuce and extra grape tomatoes that will spoil before we get back. He shares my love of gardening. I talked him into adding these beauties in front of his garage a few years ago. It is also Renee’s birthday; she is one year younger. Traffic wasn’t bad. We stopped for gas when we got in to Va. It was $.06/gallon cheaper than home. Hubby took a little different route since we weren’t in a hurry. It’s fun to see how areas have changed over the years. We stopped for lunch at a nice diner in Charlottesville. We’ve been on the road ever since except for a quick rest stop. Our ETA in Abingdon is 4:49. We saw a terrible accident on the northbound side of I 81. Traffic was backed up for five miles. Not sure what happened. We are seeing a few drops of rain but we don’t anticipate a storm. We will drive to our B&B in southern TN tomorrow. Mancil and Madi are still in TN. We’ll “wave” when we pass their exit. Looking forward to elevating my foot. Hope your day has been painless. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “A lily of a day Is fairer far in May, Although it fall and die that night, It was the plant and flower of light. In small proportions we just beauties see, And in short measures life may perfect be.” - Ben Jonson
