Injury and orienteering

Jan was spending the day taking it easy, not because she had a hangover from her birthday, but because she missed the step by the front door and dived into space, hitting various parts of herself as she crashed to the paved ground! It happened as she was cleaning our new bench which had been poo'd on by a pied flycatcher! This cleaning involved water from the butt on one side of the step and then turning back and down a step to reach the actual bench. Somewhere in the "turn and step down" something went badly wrong! It was a shock for both of us, but mostly for Jan as she got the pain and bruises to go with the shock.
I had a couple of packages (presents for Jan) to collect from town so I left her resting, phone nearby, while I went off to collect the packages and to do some of the summer orienteering.
This orienteering scheme goes by the name of "HittaUt", which I'd translate as "Find your way - outside", though a direct translation is "Find - Out". Anyway I spent a couple of hours finding marked points in the forest, and seeing new paths and views. The photo today shows one of the views and at the base of the nearest tree you can see the post I'm looking for. The water in the distance is the sea, the end of the South Sound.
In the end I found six points, though most of the time went to NOT finding a particularly difficult point. It was by a small cliff but the area turned out to be full of small cliffs and it was unclear if the marker was at the top or base of the small cliff. I saw a lot of lovely places where very few people had been before, but none of them had a marker post! I shall download the app and return tomorrow with a compass!
When I got home Jan had ceased resting and was sorting through old files and teaching materials.
We both took it fairly easy for the rest of the day!
Two days of blip posted today. This is yesterday's backblip.
