Life is a Challenge!

By Honeycombebeach

TODAY WAS THE DAY...

...that I had to have my heart monitor fitted, so after coffee with friends, Mr. HCB collected me and off we went.

It took all of 2 minutes to put the three sticky pads on me - and I didn’t even have to remove any clothing, just pull my top up!  However, I didn’t think that you would be interested in seeing any of those things, so was pleased to see on our way back to the car that this beautiful honeysuckle was reaching skywards.  It was a bit too far away to smell it, but if it’s anything like most honeysuckles, they have the most amazing perfume.

I must confess I am a bit miffed because I had a letter this morning to tell me I hadn’t “chosen my clinic” following the letter dated 6th May.  However, no-one had explained that I had to do that - and I assumed, wrongly obviously, that the 72 hour monitor was all I was referred for because that’s what I was told.  The receptionist there told me that the results could take 4 to 5 weeks to get back to my GP.  Arghhh!  Having shown her the letter received this morning, the lady who fitted the monitor suggested I ring the number on the letter.

When we got home, I spent the next hour ringing various numbers.  I rang the number on the letter for the Appointment Service, to be told they couldn’t help, and suggested I rang my GP, which I duly did.  The receptionist couldn’t help, so she put me through to one of the secretaries, who was very pleasant, but she couldn’t help me either.  She suggested I ring the Cardiology Referral Assessment Service, which I did and thankfully, a lovely lady named Judy was able to help me.

However, this may take a lot longer than I hoped because Judy said I had been referred to a cardiologist as well as having to wear a 72 hour heart monitor and she didn’t know how long it would take after my results are sent to the Cardiology Department, so this could be some time.

If God is trying to teach me patience, I need to remember this and will probably need to write it out at least 100 times:

"Patience is not the ability to wait,
but the ability to keep a good attitude
          while waiting."
Joyce Meyer

However, the bonus was seeing this beautiful honeysuckle, so I will count that as a win for today.  Hope you all have a great weekend.  M xx
