Early riser

With the windy and wet conditions this large red damselfly has done well to emerge and get to the stage where it is nearly ready to fly before breakfast time this morning.

I've taken it with flash for a change, as the light was pretty poor this morning, but despite any amount of fiddling with the settings there's still a bit too much specular glare going on for me to be really happy with this one.  I'm definitely going to investigate some diffusers I think.  

The combination of the breeze moving the leaves, and the damsel trying to hide from the camera on the other side of its leaf didn't help the situation it has to be said!
