Crook of Devon

(Twinned with The Thief of Bagdad).

Mrs FP had learned of a fabric shop in this little village, so while she squandered my hard earned I had a cup of tea then set off on a riverside walk. (the fabric shop cleverly offers teas and coffee and tray bakes to entice innocents inside).

First extra is Rumbling Bridge. A double arch structure over a toe curling deep gorge. Very scary, but a grand walk. Onto Dollar for lunch at Café at No. 11.  which I endorse heartily, a fine quirky menu. and very friendly staff that made a fuss of the Murdo. I had the Brunch Bowl which was excellent but far too much, a doggy bag required. The remainder provided dinner this evening. Mrs FP opted for a fishy chowder kind of thing.

The extra with the post box? Well hopefully this is about to be the location of the most famous wee village shop in the world. I purchased a lottery ticket for tonight's "£208,000,000 draw. Got to be worth a punt. Will advise.

On our return bought two planters at Aldi. Cheap as chips. Assembly whiled away and hour and Mrs FP is clarting about with wood stain.

All in all a grand day. Oh, we saw a red squirrel.
