The right tools for the job
When I discovered box tree moth caterpillars happily munching through my low box hedge and larger bushes on Monday, I called over to neighbour J to have a look. My immediate reaction, in terms of everything I knew about this pest, was that there was no way of stopping the advance of the caterpillars. Further research has only reinforced that view..
J explained that he had the tools for the job, and so this morning he came over with his hedge trimmer and root grabber. I’ve filled the green bin and taken two loads down to the tip and the green skip there. What I thought would be a big job has taken a long morning. I’ll have to have a think about the gaps in the front garden and how to fill them.
Meanwhile, I like this rose flower in the back garden.
