No Shortage Of Lead In These Pencils!
I went down to Keswick today with the intention of taking some Turf Zones. One was round the back of the Pencil Museum so after taking the zone I popped in.
It might not sound like the most exciting museum but it’s very informative and family friendly. The most interesting part for me was the section showing how our troops in the Second World War used to smuggle maps and compasses behind enemy lines by concealing them inside the pencils.
10/10 for their coffee in the cafe as well. I also bought some watercolours in the sale so that I can have another dabble at painting.
Took a further three more zones in the town centre and one outside the Catholic Church! Then I drove to the disused railway walk between Threlkeld and Keswick and nabbed a further zone there. I was going to go back in tonight and take the zones in the park but it’s Keswick Beer Festival this weekend so the place would have been chocca. Anyway I think I’d done enough for one day :-))
