Puffin
On the Isle of May. I can never resist a puffin blip, especially with sand eels.
T and I had a splendid trip, probably our best yet, for sheer numbers of birds and other wildlife, including grey seals. We also had an excellent guide who knew where to find particular nests and baby birds. And the weather was fine - the forecast from the previous day had been for rain and a stiff breeze, but it turned out dry with hardly any wind.
I've got a fair number of extras of bird life on the cliffs of the Bass Rock which we visited on our way to the May with gannets razorbills, guillemots and shags. On the May itself there are several photos of female eiders both sitting and with ducklings. They are so well camouflaged that you can miss them even if they are just next to the path. There are also razorbills and a view of cliffs on the May with birds on more or less every available ledge, including razorbills, guillemots, kittiwakes and puffins.
