Beak
I think you will just have to trust me that this is a baby blackbird's beak!
While I have been washing up I have been aware of a bird darting backwards and forwards outside, so this afternoon I watched for a while. It is a blackbird pair who have built a beautiful twig and moss nest in a clematis that climbs up the wall in the corner next to my kitchen window. It's difficult to see (of course) and impossible to focus on behind the clematis leaves, so this is the best I have done through the window with manual focus. The blackbird is the big dark shape on the middle left, and you can just see the beak in the thumbnail, a second beak behind it and a couple of wing feathers below. This is the blackbirds' second nest, which is good news!
