Rodelinda

No performance at Garsington today.  We went to a rehearsal of Handel's Rodelinda.  This is the stage being switched over from L'Elisir D'Amore (which is the façade with arches, balconies and geraniums in the background) to Rodelinda.  Lots of strong young men and forklift trucks!

It was the first time that the set, lighting, singers, dancers and orchestra have got together, and it was rather chaotic.  The director had explained to us that there were still some "technical issues", which included the rehearsal being stopped rather suddenly when a "sacred flame" got out of control.  I'm sure it will all be right on the first night in 5 days' time!
