MEMENTO

This is one of the cylindrical pieces of the stem of one of the palm trees that was felled yesterday. I rolled it up to the back porch of my house. It will remain a constant reminder of the two majestic trees felled yesterday.

We still have six other palms. Four of them form a row next to some class buildings further down. A pair stands one on each side of a short walkway leading to another classroom block.

Hopefully we shall not live to witness more felling of these wonderful ornamental trees.
