Victorian pantry in Cheltenham

a visit to the early home of Gustaf Holst in Cheltenham, a home where a strict father controlled the household although he passed on his love of music to the young Gustaf. The house was opened to the public in 1975 and has more or less stayed open over the years. The place wasn’t large although it did include a maids bedroom.  We fortunately met our friend when coming out and sat outside with a very good hot chocolate planning the next move.  Some shopping for the ‘girls’ and John had to collect an order from the other side of town.  Later this afternoon a drive up to Brimpsfield churchyard to say hello to my mum and dad, a peaceful area with the yew walkway up to the church. I love it here for all sorts of reasons. This evening out with our friend and a friend of hers for an Indian meal.
