I Witness

Silly Saturday ...

... trying to fly.

We had another weird weather day with some rain, some sun, some more rain and finally lots of sunshine.

This didn't stop us from getting out today though.  Even though it was lightly raining after lunch we headed out to a Corvette car show that was being held at the local community college ... rain or shine.  I'm not really a 'car' girl but I was duly impressed with some of these beautiful Corvettes.  And the some of the personalized license plates were rather silly.

After leaving the car show we did some grocery shopping before our final stop ... which was the walking trail at St. Luke's Hospital.  While walking there we saw not only this silly red-winged blackbird fledge but also some itty bitty juvenile toads!  I was able to pick one up at one point and took some pictures of it in my hand ... perfect for silly Saturday.  But when we came across this silly fledge hanging onto the fence those pictures were forgotten!  And the silliest thing of all was the fact that we were trying to beat an impending thunder storm the whole time we were walking! We just barely made it back to the car before the skies really opened up!

Thanks to davidc and his beautiful Editor for hosting Silly Saturday in memory of our lovely Admirer.  If there is a free month available for hosting I'm ready, willing and able!

In other news:  Later in the day ... well after supper ... Richard was working in the front yard and saw the first Monarch butterfly of the year.  He quickly let me know and I headed out there with camera in hand.  I've added a shot of this gorgeous male monarch in Extras.  It's not the best shot but I wanted to record our first sighting of the season.
