Dogwoods

The dogwoods have started to bloom. This one is actually a creamy white.

The showers ended here in Dartmouth before I left this morning. But as I got closer to Truro there was another band of showers moving thru there. Fortunately both the farmers market and the plant sale were under cover events. It was still raining when I left the plant sale so I decided to head for Masstown Market and stop at the rock garden on the way back. I had checked the radar and it showed the rain would end by noon, and it did. I picked up a few plants and some  treats at Masstown, then continued on my way to Lowland Gardens. Back to Truro where I had a walk around the rock garden.
On my way home I stopped at Withrow's, a farm market/meat store/garden center. The young kid who was working the cash in the garden center needs to find a different job. He slouched over the counter while ringing me thru, I felt like he was too lazy to stand up straight. Then I asked for some help getting the plants to the truck. It is a gravel parking lot on a slight slope and I find it difficult to get the cart across the gravel. He said he could help. I looked at the lineup behind me and looked back at him, told him that he has a lineup. So he went and got one of the greenhouse workers to take over the cash. He picks up 2 plants off my cart, leaving a full tray and 2 more plants there. I asked him what he was doing, and he looks at me and says "I thought you wanted help'. I said, "Yes, but you have to take the whole cart.'  All he had to do was start pulling the cart behind him, but he decided to turn it around so he could push it. But he had no idea how to get it turned around. The rear wheels were stationery, the front wheels are used to turn the cart. He finally got it over to the truck with more instructions from me. When I went into the farmers market side, I spoke to the manager and told her that kid needs a different job, he is not cut out for any sort of retail work. When I went into the meat store the staff in that section were all friendly and smiling. I told the cashier that she was doing a good job, much better than the guy in the garden center.

The rain has started again, it is supposed to rain till early tomorrow morning.

Brunch tomorrow, then I am going to see a play with the travel/social group.
