Rainy roses

can’t stop photographing roses.  It was a very rainy day, which we need but of course didn’t really want.  Pilates first thing I and then I went over to Mum’s for lunch, stopping off on the way to pick her up a few things.  Whilst I was there the rain really began to hammer down, just as we were planning to go and pick some flowers for the house.  Mum said how much she loved looking at the garden, particularly this rose,  from her armchair (neither of us knew what it was called, that was Dad’s department)    She said as her world has got smaller she is taking pleasure in small things. We did the Guardian quick crossword together, she very much got some of the clues.   I managed to hop out and pick a few roses before I went home.

Rachel came round to be shown the tasks for watering whilst we are away but the rain was coming down so hard we didn’t really get into it and just had a cup of tea and a chat.  She brought over some huge bunches of philadelphus so now the house smells delicious and lemony.
