Unusual Sunday

It's very rare for Little Man and me to stay home from church on a Sunday. We both enjoy going to church. However, there are a few exceptions to that would prevent us from going. Family visits, travelling, or when all the Living Waters congregations get together in Barneveld. I've been to one, last December, and it was a very long and exhausting day for Little Man and for myself. Barneveld is about an hour's drive from where we live and after the service finishes, there's coffee and tea, followed by a meal. This means that we aren't able to leave until well after 4 pm. There are too many safety hazards (a busy road in front of the hall, doors that are easily opened, and children who's parents let them roam without supervision). I wouldn't have been able to talk to anyone, or been able to enjoy the food, due to wanting to ensure that Little Man is safe, and not about to get run over. Maybe once I've got my driver's licence and a car, we'll be able to drive home as soon as the service is done. At the moment, with everything else that's going on in, driving lessons seem to have fallen to the side. It feels like a pipe dream.

We had a lovely day together. Little Man and I went outside to look at the coots (I double checked on ChatGPT). This pair had three hatchlings, and Little Man decided to sit and watch them from one of his garden chairs. We'd picked the chairs up last summer, from the side of the road, as someone didn't want them anymore.

I also made an exception to my blanket ban of Little Man not watching anything on Netflix. The weather has been very unpredictable today, lots of heavy downpours as well as smaller showers, so I didn't want to go for a walk and risk getting soaked. So we had a quiet afternoon, with Little Man watching Paw Patrol and me doing other things about the house. Whilst Little Man was distracted, I was able to get a long journal entry in. There was a few things that were bothering me that I've been able to write about. He's gone to bed and I'm working through the list of daily goals I have for myself (posting on here, writing on my journal, drinking enough water, etc).
