Musing of a Lady

Biking Trip

Little Man and I have had a lovely day together. He didn't have nursery this morning, as its Whit Monday and the whole country had a public holiday. Businesses are running reduced opening hours or are closed. The public transport system is also running their Sunday time timetable, so there wasn't any buses through Driebruggen. I needed to get a tape measure for some measurements for Little Man's suit.

If you've been following my blip journal for a while you'll know that my cousin, Amanda, is finally getting married. She's been with her partner for over fifteen years now. My mum and I decided that it would be a lot cheaper to get Little Man's suit made in Uganda than buying one over here. The only downside, getting accurate measurements. My tape measure disappeared a while ago, so I attempted to use a few pieces of string and a ruler, which wasn't accurate. So I needed to a new tape measure.

So Little Man and I biked to Gouda. I knew the shops I needed to visit would be open. We picked up a few things, including the tape measure. We then went to see Sjanne, my life group leader. She works with Salvation Army and they had set up a mini-pancake poffertje stand in front of the building as there was a rommelmarkt street market on.

We biked home, and I had to stop for a quick photo before continuing. We've had a lovely afternoon, but a bit hectic because Little Man has needed almost constant supervision or assistance. I'm writing this just before I take him up to bed.
