Sally Mair - Loving life

"That'll be an ecumenical matter"

Pentecost - The day the Holy Spirit came, sometimes known as the birthday of the church. A good day to announce to the congregation that we have a new Rector and who she is. The news seemed to be well received.

This afternoon I went to the ecumenical service on Silverknowes Promenade. There must have been around 200 there from about eight different local churches. A good sing and as a bonus it stayed dry. I continued to hone my People's Warden skills in caring for the Curate's two year old, I'm not sure it's in the job description though.

I'm finding myself very tired just now, it may just be relief after all that's been going on. I believe the weather is to warm up again soon, it's been decidedly chilly. This would be the time when our 'not very old' boiler decided to stop working. I think it's the pump as the hot water is working OK. We'll find out tomorrow, at least we have a maintenance contract on it. Cynical me wonders if it's a coincidence that we had a plumber here last week having difficulty finding out how to turn off the hot water.
I'm off for a bath before bedtime to warm me up.
