Topping up our Vitamin D
Another cool overcast day was forecast, so imagine my delight when the clouds cleared to a bright blue sky mid-morning.
As soon as I had finished a few admin things the lure of the sunshine was irresistible, and we headed to Bortons Pond for exercise, fresh air and vitamin D.
Despite the sun, the wind coming off the snow fields in the mountains was bracing. I was well rugged-up and none of my four warm layers were removed, despite 1.5 hours' brisk walking. I may have loosened my outer coat around the neck...that was plenty.
The days of cloud and cold have really dampened my mood. I woke this morning feeling unusually gloomy, contemplating another few days of the same. The weather affects everything for me. So the surprise sunshine was medicinal. I feel remarkably more positive this evening.
The choice of which photo to post as the main was difficult. I have picked the view which I haven't taken before - taken from where I park at Bortons, looking across the flat Waitaki Valley towards Mount Dommett and the Marys Range. The extra is an oft-Blipped view looking up the Waitaki River from the water inlet gates.
My apologies for being only partly present on Blip at the moment. I will catch up in due course, as always.
