Eye to Eye

A Yellow and White Day …

… … Globeflowers and Alpine Buttercups dominating the Alpine meadows on the sides of the  Valerette, opposite the Dents du Midi. On every summit and little col on the ridges, there were Swallowtail butterflies (extra). But around us, at slightly lower altitude, was a mysterious haze the we thought must be Sahara dust in the atmosphere. It turns out that it was smoke particles from Canada. Looking out of the window now the mountains look like ghosts. Perhaps it was that that was irritating my eyes and skin for the last two days. I’m hoping to head above it again tomorrow, the current high pressure is pushing it down.

Huge thanks for all the Marbled White butterflies’ gifts. It was a very lucky shot.
