Borin' And A Misnomer

This is what birders call a lbj - a little brown job. It could be described as boring. My title refers to its scientific name Sylvia borin. Borin is derived from the local name of the bird in Genoa Italy. It means associating with oxen.

We call the bird garden warbler but that is a misnomer as it generally doesn't frequent gardens. I think I heard on Springwatch that they had featured a garden warbler for the first time in the twenty year history of the programme this year. It has a beautiful song quite like that of the blackcap.
