If you can't beat them...

Immature fern Sorus

We have a new toy!  When Kat was home the other weekend she had a small microscope that she attached to her mobile phone.  We had some fun with it.  I asked her to send me a link.  Later she said "I'm not sending you a link, it arrives tomorrow".  And so it did.  Up to now we haven't had time to play with it much.  Today Clickychick and Kanyl had to go to Carlisle to visit their banks to have various things sorted out.  This took an inordinate length of time and the result was no blips.  So time to play.

The techniques are taking a little time to learn, I have forgotten all I ever knew about which way to move a specimen to move it the way you need in the view.  The blip is my 6th shot of the Sorus.

For those who familiar with fern terminology a Sorus is one of those circular lumps on the underside of the frond that produce the spores.  When ripe they are brown, these are obviously unripe.
